Wherever we look this week, people have one thing to say about the year that went by- that it has been eventful. It seems as though no one has had a dull 2018!
At RainKraft, we’re celebrating the many transformations, new opportunities and business lessons that the year brought us.
In a way, this is a throwback piece, but as we look forward to even more exciting times, it feels only right to look back at everything we did in 2018. Come along, then, on this trip down memory lane!
In January, 2018, we started what has now become a newsletter series that everyone looks forward to. Content marketing is one of our offerings, so it is only natural that we do it right in-house as well. And thus, the RainKraft newsletter was born. This monthly compilation is a theme-based coverage of everything we talk about during the month on blogs and social media- a cup of coffee for beginning the month right.
Not only have several people written to us to tell us what they enjoy about the newsletter, we also engage prospects and turn them into clients with this approach. If you’re curious about the newsletter, sign up for the next one here.
Then, in February, we witnessed the launch of Baghirathi rydS, a shared, sustainable mobility option in the city of Bengaluru. From branding and design to launch content, this was, and will always be, our baby. Thank you, Brandhero, for the terrific partnership on this one and then many more during the year.
So many things seemed to have happened in March 2018!
First in line was our spiffy new website, more reflective of our brand and the diversity we stand for. This also percolates through the variety of work we do, from coaching and workshops to content development. We say yes to more, and we started doing that with the website.
March is also women’s month and last year, we participated in three events as facilitators- #SheroesHour at WeWork; #MentorForHer with JobsForHer at Tesco, and the Global Mentoring Walk for HerSecondInnings.
At RainKraft, we are an all-women team with diverse backgrounds and personal experiences, and we believe that #GirlPower is a force to be reckoned with! This is why we always look out for ways to support and empower women, particularly those on a career break and looking to make a comeback.
A New Step In Coaching
Our founder Subha Chandrasekaran is now an ICF’s Associate Certified Coach, having completed all requirements in early 2018. Considered the gold standard in coaching certifications, this positions her at par with renowned coaches across the globe. Her focus areas include professional coaching and coaching for women restarters. She is adept at coaching across all levels of the organisation, from mid-management to the top executives.
As a mentor for Cherie Blair Foundation’s Mentoring Women In Business Program, she has also had a chance to work with mentees across the globe, adding to her skills in coaching without borders.
She is now in the process of completing the EUM certification that will further help her coach individuals in a style that is uniquely suitable to them.
Learning Is A Journey
In 2018, we have had the opportunity to work in the learning space with several different clients.
For the global shared services centre of a global food and agriculture major, we undertook a six-month, six module learning journey for middle and senior management. Starting with the competencies the client wanted to focus on, we designed the online and workshop content for each module and facilitated the sessions, covering twelve competencies and over 120 people. The satisfaction in seeing and hearing about significant needle movement across the group has been immensely rewarding. Likewise, we have also designed online and session content for Developing Account Management skills for one of the Big 4.
A favorite is always going back to old haunts - the Process Risk and Control sessions at Citi let us do that!
That’s not all! We are thrilled to have been part of Northern Trust's Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, running sessions across Bengaluru and Pune.
What sets us apart is the fact that we work extensively on our learning content, developing most of it in-house. Our insights are unique, useful and always easy to apply in different contexts. The conscious use of language to make an impact is a house specialty, and we daresay it works!
Speaking of Content
Content marketing is one of our core areas of work and we help clients both in designing the big picture as well as executing the smaller details. We worked with Fuel4Fashion, a fashion design and branding consulting firm, since April 2018. We have also been writing for Vue.ai, an AI powered retail automation tool. Our expertise in writing in the retail space, and in fashion, is helping our clients see phenomenal success.
We also continue to work with brands on social media engagement, inbound marketing and ways of increasing their organic reach in a cluttered world. You can see more of our work here.
A Vision For 2019
As we step into a new year, we’re looking to expand our client portfolio even as we continue to do all the good work that we now are. Our team’s greatest strength is the sheer diversity of work we have been exposed to, and we believe that that gives us a distinct edge, and a good deal of empathy, for every situation.
Towards the end of 2018, RainKraft turned three- a joyride, if there ever has been one. We are absolutely grateful for all the clients, partners and team members who have made this fun journey possible.
If we have impacted you this past year in ways big and small, do drop in a mail and tell us. That would make us very happy indeed! That’s three cheers to a wonderful year, and three more for the one that’s just begun. We wish you a very happy, successful and rewarding 2019!
